Daw Hyfryd Fis
This is a traditional Welsh folk song, such as a round. I have recorded it with four voices, with four of them starting at ‘a chlwywir’ and one starting at ‘Mehefin’. You can start the round again after any of the lines.
Translation:
The lovely month will come,
June will soon be here,
and we will hear the cuckoo singing happily in our land.
Happily in our land,
happily in our land,
cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo singing happily in our land.
Daw hyfryd fis,
Mehefin cyn bo hir,
a chlywir y gwcw'n canu'n braf yn ein tir.
Braf yn ein tir,
braf yn ein tir,
cwcw, cwcw, cwcw'n canu'n braf yn ein tir.
